Dr. R. Balaji is well trained, experienced and one of the best cardiologist in Hyderabad at Balaji Heart Center, Chanda Nagar. I, Dr. R. Balaji wanted to be a lawyer in my childhood. My wish is partially fulfilled even as I became doctor and an accomplished cardiologist as I now argue with the disease on behalf of my patients and it gives me great pleasure as I win often. Being born in a middle class family and to a Govt. Employee, made me humble personally and empathize with patients. Being a meritorious student my medical education was in Govt. (S V) medical college at Tirupathi, Andhra Pradesh. While studying MD (General Medicine) (1992-95) I witnessed enormous burden of heart disease in the society and the scope for curing many as the field was advancing fast and as there was need to fill the gap.
It was mostly the then professor of cardiology Dr. G. Subramanyam’s influence which made shift to Hyderabad to pursue super specialty DM (Cardiology) dream vigorously. About 2 years of stay as resident in cardiology at NIMS, Panjagutta, Hyderabad taught me lifetime of experiencein heart ailments. Scoring state 2nd rank, I joined DM cardiology course at prestigious Osmania General Hospital / College. The wealth of teaching material, array of different cases, experienced teachers, and advancedinvestigative modalities made me competent and complete cardiologist.
After a stint at AMS/ DDH Hospital, Vidyanagar as a Senior Registrar I was successivelyat Yashodasuperspeciality Hospital, Somajiguda, and KIMS Hospital, Secunderabad as Consultant and Interventional Cardiologist. I returned to AMS / DDH in the year 2008 as HOD and director of Cardiac Cathlab. During those years I was also academic head and trained many young doctors in cardiology (under IGNOU scheme)
Dr. R. Balaji is providing heart care treatment for the people who are living in Lingampally, BHEL, madinaguda, Hafeezpet, JNTU, Miyapur X Roads, Kondapur, Kothaguda Junction
I was awarded the coveted SCAI fellowship (FSCAI) by the American Interventional Society for the quality of interventional work.
Having keen eye for details, sharp mind to question and elicit, clinical skills, patience, 25 years of practicing medicine, I believe that experience counts!!

From one of the very early cardiologists who began Radial interventions (Angio , PTCA etc., done through hand and not from leg) to doing complex angioplasties, rotablation and bifurcation technique etc., my career came a long way. As I continue practicing interventional cardiology, I became passionate about preventive cardiology recently. At BHC we unveiled many protocols to prevent heart attack in the young for risk stratification scores. I am probably the only one who offer ASHA (Avoid Second Heart Attack) protocol (to victims of heart attack / past stenting or bypass patients to avoid second heart attack / repeat bypass and repeat stenting) I don’t simply stop at saving patients, all doctors do it always.I look beyond to give my patients long, meaningful, symptom free, high quality life with assurance and empathy
"Just like other doctors, I do not simply stop at saving patients. I look beyond to give my patients a long, meaningful, symptom-free and a high-quality life with assurance and empathy. " - Dr. R. Balaji
